Congrats to the Class of 2015 + hello summer break!

The 2014-15 school year has ended here at Hofstra. We celebrated the Class of 2015 at the Commencement ceremonies last weekend. It's been a great year, and we're already looking forward to campus being busy again. It's pretty quiet!

A tribute to the Pride Guides who graduated this weekend!

There's a lot to look forward to this summer. The Class of 2019 will be visiting for Orientation, and here at the Office of Admission we're gearing up for campus visits with prospective students interested in checking out everything Hofstra has to offer.

Five reasons to attend Admitted Student Day

Admitted Student Day is this Sunday, March 1! Cristina shared five key reasons to visit campus for these exciting events.

1. Meet faculty members from your intended field of study
Wondering who will teach your first class? Our faculty information sessions will allow you to interact with current faculty members and ask them specific questions about your major. It’s never too early to start building those close student-faculty relationships!

2. Find future Hofstra friends
The Game Room will host an ice cream social where you and other admitted students will get to socialize while shooting pool, playing ping-pong, air hockey, foosball and arcade games. Maybe you will meet your future roommates, classmates, or your longtime friends; who knows!

3. Watch performances from some of our student organizations
Hofstra is home to over 250 clubs and organizations. Several a'cappella and dance organizations have created special performances for you.

4. Instagram a picture with the mascots.
Hofstra University is one of the few universities in the country to have two mascots! Make sure to snap a picture when you spot Kate and Willie Pride and be sure to use #SeeHofstra and #Hofstra19 throughout the day.

5. Officially join the Class of 2019!
Be one of the few Hofstra students who can say they submitted their deposit right on campus. Admission counselors will be available to answer any questions before you end your day.

Can't make it to Sunday's event? Check out our full list of on- and off-campus events for admitted students here.

Meet the Pride Guides: Juliana Spano

Juliana Spano is a sophomore majoring in rhetorical studies and minoring in international affairs and fine arts. She took advantage of Hofstra’s location by taking a course held in New York City during January session, which provides students with an exciting opportunity to study abroad or take courses held outside the typical classroom. Let's hear from Juliana!

Representatives from more than 50 collegiate institutions came together for this tour guide conference. This past Monday at Hofstra, many prospective students and their families came for a visit and experienced College for a Day!

This is an event hosted by the Office of Admission that gives students who are interested in Hofstra a chance to see and learn everything there is to know about the university. The day included many informative events such as campus tours, an academic fair, a parent presentation, student panel, and even a student services fair. Check out our Facebook album to see more photos from the event!

Interested in visiting for one of our next College for a Day programs? We've got two more for the fall: November 4 (Election Day) and November 11 (Veterans Day). Register here!

College tours are extremely vital when trying to decide on a school. Here at Hofstra, our tours are really the thing that sets us apart! With such great Pride Guides, the tours here are anything but boring! I talked to some of the Pride Guides and asked them to tell me about their favorite moment from a tour they gave.
