Faith, Friends, Fellowship

Hello, my name is Mary Anna, and I'm a junior from Murfreesboro, TN. Growing up, faith has always been something that has been near and dear to my heart. When it came time for college, I knew that I needed to go somewhere that would allow me to continue to be true to who I was. This weekend I participated in something called "Big Event." This is a gathering of Intervarsity chapters from schools all over the northeast.

Such a beautiful view of the lake!
I traveled with 11 other Hofstra Intervarsity Christian Fellowship students up to Lake Champion for this three-day, two-night retreat. We participated in scripture study, musical worship, pastoral teaching, and outdoor fellowship with rock climbing, volleyball, frisbee, and a giant swing! It is in the moments when we take a minute to think about what is most important to us that our minds are opened.

I'm so thankful for this group of students and for the joy that I feel when I'm with them. I'm glad that I have found a university that supports student faith and diversity.
